交通ルール

　インドのコルカタ（カルカッタ）で、ビートルズのアビイロードのジャケット写真を使った交通安全ポスターが作られた。
　ビートルズの４人が横断歩道を渡る写真に "If they can, why can't you?" 　と文字を入れ、横断歩道を渡ろうと呼びかけるポスターだ。

　ポスターに対しては、賛否両論あるそうだ。
　まず、賛成派はこんな意見。

"Calcutta has had a long love affair with The Beatles and if that can make people abide by rules, then nothing like it"

　だが、否定派の意見はかなり手厳しい。

"Instead spend the money on making zebra crossings at the right places, and educating drivers and ordinary pedestrians on what they are for! If people today actually use them as shown in the photo, they will be run over before you know it!"

横断歩道を渡って引き殺されたのでは、たまりませんね。

おらは人気者？

　ディラン・ホールはイギリス人の父とタイ人の母の間に生まれた３歳の男の子。
　両親とともにイギリスのウェールズに住んでいる。

　タイにいる祖父母に見てもらおうと、ディランのビデオを母親がYoutube にアップロードしてきた。そのうちの１つ、ディランがタイ語のアイウエオの練習をしているビデオが、タイ国内で大人気になった、というニュース。

　インタビューを受けている父親の話を聞いた感じでは、アイウエオというよりも「いろは歌」と言った方が近いのかも知れない。（昔風のタイ語のアルファベットの覚え方で、それ自体が詩になっているのだそうな）
