ピーターラビット税

　ピーターラビットの舞台であるイギリス・湖水地方で自然保護のための寄付金を観光客に求めているのだが、光栄にも日本人団体観光客からはもれなく取り立てるようなシステムを導入するそうだ。

The levy is devised under the initiative of local tourism managers and Japanese tour operators to target those people on tours who have been left out of similar levies individual travelers are asked to pay when they check out of hotels in the district, according to local media.

But The Daily Telegraph said in its online edition, "It is thought to be the first time one nationality has been singled out to pay such a fee."　　

　強制的に「寄付金」を取ってしまう、ていうのはよろしくないですねぇ。（返金要求は可能、とはいえ）
　そんなことをするよりも「寄付をお願いします」という日本語のパンフレットでも作って、フロントとか客室内においておけばいいと思う。（たぶん、寄付を求められていることに団体旅行者は気づいていないと思うのですよ）
　湖水地方へ足を伸ばす団体観光客となれば、寄付を断るほどケチではないはず（中にはそういう人もいるかも知れませんが、少数派だと思う）。団体客の習性として、誰か一人がお金を入れれば、みんなで喜んで寄付するでしょう。
　日本の旅行会社(Japanese tour operators)はそんなことも考えなかったのですかね。
